In our book "Living Abundantly through Inner Guidance" we have outlined a concept for discovering what you really want to create in your life. Here is a basic outline of the concept:
First, take a piece of paper and divide it into two columns down the middle. Next, make a list of everything you do not want in your life. This, as you may expect, is a relatively simple list to make and often can be very long. Take the the time though, it will be worth it. Second, one by one, write beside each 'do not want' item, the opposite condition you would like to have instead.
Now, this is not particularly easy because of the way most people think. But its that habitual thinking that created what you now have because what we thought about a minute, an hour, a day, a week, a month and years ago is what we now see as our reality.
Here's why its a little tough to do 'correctly'. Because, you cannot use any negative words or suggestions. For example, if you have a car that is ready for the junk yard, you can't say - "I want to get rid of the junker" - why not? Because the subconscious mind - The Unified Field - immediately goes about manifesting exactly what you tell it to. Using the word 'junker' tells the subconscious mind that a junker now exists in your life and that gives it the message that that is your reality now...so that is what you are energizing to remain in your life.
If you want to stop smoking you don't say, "I am absolutely going to stop smoking"...instead you say, "I am going to have perfectly healthy lungs and loads of energy and vitality." The subconscious mind knows it is impossible to have those things while you smoke so it goes about manifesting the various conditions necessary to bring about the reality you want - effortlessly on your part. Get the idea?
Third, once you have your two lists done, categorize the items into preferences with the top 5 items isolated. Now look at those 5 items and 'feel' which is the number #1 thing you want to manifest. Put the others aside and focus all your attention, in the ways we described in the previous 11 posts, and watch that #1 desire fly into your life. Remember, one key facet of the process is to always speak and focus in NOW terms...as if the thing you are seeking is already in your life...like this, "I NOW have perfectly healthy lungs and loads of energy and vitality." Oh, and don't forget to say, THANK YOU.
